By
law all drivers must be insured against liability for injuries to others
including passengers and any damages from the use of a vehicle on the
public road.
There
are 3 types of car insurance, it is an offence to drive on the public
roads in the UK without one of the following types of car insurance.
Third Party
This
is generally the cheapest type of cover. This covers liabilities for
injuries to other people, including passengers along with liability for
damage to other people's properties.
Third Party Fire and Theft
This
includes all of the cover provided in a Third party cover and
additionally cover for vehicles in the event of fire, explosions or
theft of the vehicle.
Comprehensive Cover
This
cover includes all of the cover above and usually also includes
accidental damage to your own vehicle as well. This can include a
specified amount to be paid in the event of the death/injury to the
policy holder.
